The Oakhurst Business District serves as the central commercial hub of the neighborhood, and residents have named it “Oakhurst Village”. This business center consists of restaurants and retail stores, many of which are owned by Oakhurst’s own residents. This is also the location of an old medical facility – the Old Scottish Rite Hospital – which has now been transformed into a mixed-use complex that features an art gallery, winery, and a community and event center called Solarium.

Craftsman bungalows pepper the entire neighborhood, with most of them built with bricks and front porches. Gentrification has gradually introduced more modern housing structures, but residents still adore the legendary architectural styles that have given Oakhurst its identity.

Residing in Oakhurst gives you access to a lot of attractions and activities. Take a stroll in one of the parks in the neighborhood – Harmony Park, McCoy Park and Pool, and Oakhurst Park. You may also enjoy the festivals that have become staples in Oakhurst: BBQ, Blues & Bluegrass Festival, Oakhurst Arts & Music Festival, and Jazz Nights at Scottish Rite.

If you want to get to Oakhurst, you can choose from any of the following major routes: DeKalb Avenue/East College Avenue, Ponce de Leon Avenue, or Memorial Drive. You may also take the MARTA and drop by the East Lake rail station in order to reach Oakhurst.
